How To: Metallic Eye

So Saturday night my sister Abbey went to a friends party, and she asked if I wanted to do her eye make-up and of course I said yes! She showed me a picture online on what she would like, I took this and adapted it as best I could to suit her age and her features.

She chose a beautiful soft brown and black metallic eye, and this is how I did It.
  • Using a shimmery black eye shadow, I drew the outline of the shape I needed. I Started from her lash line and drew that out to a flick, then drew it back in through her socket line, I used a very small and fine brush. Then I blended the colour one quarter toward the middle of the eyelid.
  • Then using a light gold/bronze shadow from Abbey's colour works palette, I blended the gold over her lid and into the black to blend it using a rounded blending brush.
  • Then to add highlight where the light would naturally hit, I used a light Ivory shimmer powder and blended in to the middle of her eye lid, also on the inner corners of her eyes to make them appear bigger.
  • Underneath her eyes, I used the black shadow again to carry on the line from the flick and carried that line on under her eyes (just under her water line) and stopped half way. Then I used the gold to carry on to the inner corner of her eye- on the same line.
  • Then some layers of mascara (no need for eye-liner in the water line) and viola!
Easy-peasy! Five simple steps!

Fat Face Haul!

Yesterday me and my sister Hannah went for a post birthday meal, to the Harvester, yum. I was so full after it though, but every mouthful was so worth it! Then off we went to the Bridgend Designer Outlet for a browse only. But obviously that didn't stick and we both bought something! So these are the purchases of the day! All from Fat Face (click here for there website). Think it's my new FAVE place to shop...

This first outfit my sister Hannah bought. I'm actually really jealous, the jacket was a last minute buy, we were leaving the shop and Hannah saw it and 'had to get it'. I really do love this denim number  it's really versatile, just layer it with some leggings, jumper or khaki coat for winter. Or team it with summer shorts/shirts or even more leggings for a perfect summer look, effortless. I think it really suits Hannah and the fact its limited stock and there was say, five left? That was a bonus.
The second item she bought was the Dania Broderie Tank top in the sale for £12, bargain! It has cute lace detailing around the collar, with a soft cream colour, a perfect partner for the jacket or on its own.
She also felt the need to buy even more shoes, but at least she bought shoes that will last and that she can wear with almost anything! These are the Karo trainers from £30 down to £15. I especially love the washed canvas effect.

In contrast, my was a little bit of a smaller splurge than Hannah's. I thought I wasn't going to purchase anything in store, but this caught my eye last minute. Usually I don't buy items like this but I fell in love with this Kayla Colllar Fallen shirt, with the light floral print, juxtapose to the dark material. I bought it thinking it would be good to wear over shorts in summer, and dark jeans or leggings for the chillier days. It didn't set me back to much at all either, it was priced at £25, compared to the original £35.
The necklace was a buy on a whim. Of the purchases on display in front of you at the checkout that you can't resist. I don't regret it though, it was only £3 for the Jersey Coin necklace, and the little blue stones scattered in the design compliment the shirt.
After buying stuff for ourselves me and Hannah wanted to get something for or sister, so we took a walk to Claire's and bought anything bright, childish and crazy/cute we could find. Our sister loves Disney and anything unique.

Birthdays

This Monday was my birthday and I turned 17, for me that was quite scary. The day was a mixed bag, but overall it was fab. I got three AS level exams out of the way and got to spend time with family and some pretty amazing people. Even better is that I am going for a meal soon to properly celebrate too. I was so spoiled that day and this is what I was given.

One of my friends Sarah (click here for her twitter!) knowing how much I love Vogue bought me this months addition and a card, I love it!

These are just some of the cards I was sent, the one from Roisin made me giggle! (The one with the meerkat)

My other good friend Emma bought me some awesome presents too, I received some bubble-gum fizzy bottle sweets; panda, koala and melon socks, and a beautiful owl necklace!

Basically this post is my way of saying thank you to everyone for what I received and to share me turning 17!
