How To: Ombre! Dip dye

So a few weeks ago I fancied a change for my dreary old locks, but nothing to dramatic such as going for the chop or dying the whole thing! I had been thinking about this for quite some time and saw many celebs and magazines plugging and raving about a new hair sensation called ombre, and well, to be frank, I wanted in!
Drew Barrymore is renowned for her signature dark to light tresses.
It is even adaptable for those with dark hair. Yes, you can actually dye your dark hair blonde with ease, result!
Even teen warbler Miley sported the look! (before the big cut of course...)

Ombre is perfect for those who like to dabble in colour and not commit to just one shade. The tonal and strand effect achieved is alluring and can be seen on the likes of Alexa Chung and Rooney Mara. But also achieves the look which doesn't speak volumes, which is also perfect for those who just want to inject a little bit of  summary warmth and colour into their look.

For me the perfect kit to use was Loreal Paris Wild Ombre. For only £6 I jumped at the chance. I found it so easy to apply and the results were almost completely under control. For those of you who are nosey by nature (which of course is also me, I must admit) Here is what I did, to go from this:
(me all natural S I G H)

TO THIS *AHHHHHH yayay* (here with Sarah)

And agggain! But hey look, you can see a little bit of ombre

I look so attractive with an orange even JessicaLouise can't cope with me * I love sarcasm*

The Instructions on the box were so easy to follow i could cry!
The ombre I used was available in three colours (adaptable to hair colour). My hair is a light to medium brown so I used the one for medium brown hair (central in the picture) but you can also buy one for medium to dark brown or medium blonde to light blonde, all available from most drug stores such as Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco's!
It was so easy to follow the instructions provided and there was even a brush to achieve the graduated messy look too!
Firstly I mixed all the product together according to the instructions- don't forget to do the allergy test48 hours beforehand! and I made sure I chucked on an old jumper (towel or old T-shirt), that jumper being my old school one- at least it came in useful for something *laughs at bad use of sarcasm*.

This is were the fun began! I of course brushed through my hair to get rid of any tangles and parted it centrally over my shoulders. Then I applied (brushed through) the dye with the brush (which I must admit I kept...) from just below my ears as I had long hair, but you can apply it from whichever point you like as long  as its not to close to your roots. Then it was just a waiting game I guess. The great thing about this dye kit is that you could have some control, it is recommended that you leave it in for a minimum of twenty minutes to a maximum of 45, you can them pick or choose your lightness as you can wash it off whenever between those two time frames. Perfect. Then simply rinse it through like any other dye (all of this is explained in the instructions provided) and there you have it, DIY ombre!

I think ombre is a great way to mix up your look and I had fun doing it and loved the result, although the ends of my hair got a little dry from going blonde, but that was easily managed by using a good deep conditioner once in a while! Be daring and have a go!
